Now finds herself 6lbs below the mark she ran off in this race last term. Making a quick reappearance here, having run just 9 days ago.
She ran a cracker in this race last term off a 6lbs higher mark. Finishing a close 3rd behind the winner Gipsy Lee Rose. Beaten just 2L by the winner. The mistake at the final fence cost her any chance of winning.
Admittedly, she comes into the race with a bit to prove at present this time around. The fact that she runs again just 9 days after a poor run sporting first-time cheekpieces. They leave the pieces on again, with the tongue tie going on alongside the pieces.
I think better is expected this time. The heavy ground suits her well. With plenty of form on soft/heavy ground. She's got a lovely racing weight this time around, which is also a welcome bonus.
Still a maiden over fences, but ran his best race to date over the larger obstacles lto.
He's still only had 4 chase runs. As mentioned above, he improved again lto. Showing his turn is edging ever closer. He was well backed for the race. Ghosted into contention late on. Before finding Big Zouk too hot to handle. Beaten just under 3L by the winner, back in 2nd place. No disgrace there at all.
He's been nudged up 1lb for that run. Going up slightly in this distance this time. I think the form of that last run is strong enough behind Big Zouk. The aforementioned was a 2pts winner for the column. I felt he was massively chucked in. So to get within a couple of lengths of him was a huge performance from the selection.
He's back on softer conditions again. He won his bumper here on heavy going. Beating Cannock Park just over 1L. That rates decent form with the runner-up now rated 122 under the rules. He also placed in a grade 2 behind Personal Ambition and Jango Baie. And also in a grade 1 behind Jango Baie and Favour and Fortune. So clearly the selection beat a good horse in his bumper at this venue.
He's got a nice weight here again. If running a similar race to lto here, I think he can get his head in front this time.
